What is Safe Zone?

A safe zone is the area of a vertical video frame guaranteed to be visible to viewers without being obscured by platform UI elements such as the caption bar, like buttons, username overlay, or navigation controls.

Each short-form platform overlays its interface on top of video content, which means the edges of the frame (particularly the bottom-left and right areas) may be hidden. TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels each have slightly different UI overlays, so the safe zone dimensions vary by platform.
